Managing Difficult Clients with Clear Boundaries - CEU-eligible
Lauren Mang, Let Me Organize It, LLC
Tuesday, June 1, 2021
6:15PM - 8:30PM
Whether you're new to the organizing profession or a seasoned veteran, we all run into difficult clients and agonize over dealing with them in a kind but firm manner. Identifying, setting and maintaining clear boundaries is key. In this session, we'll examine several case studies and attendees will participate in how they would handle the situation. Lauren will reveal how she handled each situation, highlighting what to do, what not to do, and how to implement those clear boundaries!
While Lauren will primarily be presenting/lecturing and giving specific case studies through a PowerPoint presentation, she will also ask the audience to participate in a "choose your own adventure" manner. She may even call on participants to share their own difficult client situations and allow the audience to give advice.
Session Objectives:
1. Identify, set and maintain clear boundaries for all clients.
2. Learn how to recognize difficult clients in advance through case studies, so you see the red flags early on, and can determine how to handle the situation.
3,. Learn what to do once you've begun working with a client and you now realize it's no longer a good fit (i.e. how to exit gracefully and kindly).
4. Walk away feeling more confident in your ability to handle any client relationship and enforce your boundaries.
Break-out Room Questions:
1. Have you ever had to fire a client?
2. Discuss briefly a difficult client situation and how you handled it.
Greetings Fellow Organizers, Productivity Pros and all Potential Guests,
The NAPO Seattle Area Chapter Board members are, as I'm sure you are, finding this to be a challenging time in our world. Covid 19 is upending virtually every aspect of our daily lives.
As such, it's with an abundance of concern for our health and safety that we are announcing that we are rescheduling May's meeting at Hotel 116 to be a virtual meeting on the same date.
We are using Zoom as our platform as we've had much success with it in the past and found it to be super easy to use. You can find more information on how to use Zoom here. ALL NON-CHAPTER GUESTS MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE of this meeting in order for us to be able to provide you with a Zoom link. REGISTER HERE
