NAPO Washington State Chapter partnered with Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center to provide sorting and storage structure to the agency's Development Office's storage room. Eleven of us, possibly a record number on a Day of Service, spent five hours on the job and had a marvelous time. We left the space completely revamped. Little Bit staff will know where everything is, and everything is now safely housed in appropriate bins.
We made it worse before it got better: a classic aspect of a project! The lovely girl posing with us is Gigi, a Norwegian Fjord. All of our members were with us in spirit, and several who had committed to the effort were sidetracked with sudden urgent conflicts. But pictured here is the full complement for the day: Diem Duong, Ellia Harris, Jay Williams (in back), Todd Allan, Lauren Williams, Jean Prominski, Angelika Roerig (next to Gigi's handler), Cindy Jobs (in back, our Project Lead Extraordinare), April Storie, Karen Hallis and Jamie Bourne. Pete, Little Bit's littlest horse, stole our hearts when he came to cheer us on.
We made steady progress - NAPO Washington State Chapter was first on-site Thursday April 4 for an initial, private consultation to discuss Little Bit's needs. Storables, a superb retail chain for organizing supplies which, sadly, closed its doors, generously gave our Chapter a HUGE amount of supplies from shelving units to bins to help us. Thank you Storables!
